Exploring places, preserving stories.
I’ve always been curious about places. When I travel, I find myself looking beyond the things I’m supposed to see—an old building on a side street, a faded sign, the way a material has weathered, or a small detail that makes me wonder about what came before.
Photography became a way of slowing down and paying attention. The more I photographed, the more I wanted to understand the places behind the images: why something was built, who used it, how it has changed, and what might be lost over time.
That curiosity became GAACI.
GAACI is a personal visual and publishing project exploring places, architecture, culture, people and memory. Some stories begin with a significant building or landscape; others with something much more ordinary. What interests me is what these places can tell us about the people, histories and traditions connected to them.
The idea of preservation sits at the centre of this. Not necessarily preserving things exactly as they are, but taking the time to notice them, understand them and remember them. A building before it changes, a tradition that is still alive, or a detail that might otherwise be overlooked can all be worth documenting.
GAACI is my way of looking a little closer and sharing what I find.
